
More young Americans are bypassing the traditional four-year college route in favour of quicker, alternative pathways: apprenticeships and trade certifications; coding bootcamps and tech certs; digital entrepreneurship/content creation; healthcare support roles; skilled trades in advanced manufacturing; or public service/government positions. These options reflect Gen Z’s desire for faster entry into the workforce, lower debt and more flexibility in a rapidly shifting job market.
